November 2, 2010

I’m John Butts. I have served Salem as Judge of Probate since 2003. I have quietly served my community since 1977. I hope to serve as YOUR Judge of Probate for East Lyme, Montville, Old Lyme and Salem for the next four years.

This site will change frequently. I hope it will be interesting and informative, and maybe a little bit entertaining.

I have met many people (including elected officials at all levels) who remain uninformed about the consolidation process and the judges’ vital roles and responsibilities in the new courts.

I will express my views in the "NEWS" section of this site.  Your fellow citizens agree overwhelmingly with my views.

Click the "CLICK HERE TO LEARN HOW TO VOTE FOR JOHN" box for voting instructions.

Please visit frequently, contact me at any time, and vote for me on November 2nd.

Who is John BUTTS?

John grew up in Rockville, Maryland.  He met his wife, Betsy, a Connecticut native, in 1970 when both were freshmen at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.  They married the day after college graduation and moved to Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, where they lived for three years while John attended Villanova Law School.  In 1977 they moved to Connecticut.  They soon discovered the town of Salem and immediately became active in the life of the community.   They bought an 18th century home and have lived there ever since.

Sons Tyler and Spencer attended Salem School and graduated from East Lyme High School (2003 and 2007, respectively).  Daughter-in-law Christina Lazar grew up in East Lyme and also graduated from East Lyme High School in 2003.  She’s not in the photo above because she took the picture!

We hope that you will visit this site often for up-to-date, interesting information.  We believe that John Butts possesses a unique skill set that makes him the clear choice for our new district’s first full-time Judge of Probate.

 ENDORSEMENT OF THE DAY

October 28, 2010

"FANFARE FOR THE COMMON MAN"

Proud as John is of his celebrity endorsements, he's equally proud of the fact that his lawn signs now appear (by request) in front of the homes of anonymous Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and "Tea Party" proponents throughout the district.

John's message: "a full day's work for a full day's pay" resonates with voters of every stripe .

Oh, and for those of you who are political junkies, remember that Congressman Joe Courtney says:

"John is a good guy and should be elected."
